'Living a Nightmare': Loved Ones of Missing Young People Desperately Seek News After Ski Resort Inferno

The loved ones of young people lost after a tragic inferno at a bar in a Swiss ski resort are facing an agonising wait for answers and appealing for any details about their loved ones publicly.

The blaze engulfed the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of New Year's Day. Confirmed video reveal the roof structure igniting as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Emergency services have indicated that it could take considerable time to identify the those who perished of the disaster, which claimed the lives of four dozen individuals and wounded another over a hundred. Officials stated on Friday that 113 of the those hurt have been identified, with work still underway to identify the other six.

In the waiting period, relatives have been posting on social media to plead for clues about their missing relatives who were at the bar that evening.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For

The fate of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are currently unknown, according to an public plea from his mother.

The resident of Lutry near Lausanne, told a publication that she had gone back to Lausanne to see if he was in the medical facility, while his father did the same in the capital, but was unsuccessful.

"It feels like a terrible dream, a horror. The options are finding my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in a serious state. It's horrific," she told the paper.

She explained that some of his companions had been located with burns covering a significant portion of their bodies. "It's indescribable; they went through hell."

The Italy's foreign ministry has said that a number of of its nationals are still unaccounted for.

Teenage sportsman Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last in contact around midnight on New Year's Eve, his father said.

Among them is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old junior golfer, originally from Italy but now living in the UAE.

The national sporting body has released a tribute that he is no longer with us, without directly referencing the fire, honoring a "talented young man who carried with him passion and true sportsmanship."

His parent, is quoted as saying that his son was at the bar and was last in contact around midnight. An official spokesperson has indicated that a official announcement of his death is not yet.

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is likewise among the missing. His mother said that he had been on holiday but had ventured out with friends and ended up at the venue.

"Someone with him informed me they fled after the fire erupted and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a specific moment he they were separated," she said, adding he had been wearing a distinctive piece of jewelry.
