Curtis Jones has disclosed that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad following the uproar from his public comments.

The Incident

He was omitted from a key Champions League match subsequent to criticising the club and claiming his connection to the head coach had soured.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”

The manager has refused to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.

Team Unity

The player stated that the squad's reaction remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” he continued.

He also implied that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “It's clear there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

On-Field Response

The team's performance have been impressive in the games following the interview fallout. The player is convinced the Salah's words were never meant to harm the team.

“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a good place,” he finished. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and securing victories.”
